Practice nights

Tower ringers

Our practice night is always Thursday, but please check by using our Contacts page before travelling to make sure we're there. We usually start at 7.30 p.m. and continue until 9.00 p.m. However presently we have a number of youngsters learning so have brought forward the practice start time to 7 p.m. We endeavour to accommodate all abilities and include learners in the first hour of the evening. As ringing is starting slightly earlier at the moment we finish at 8.45 p.m. This arrangement may change in future so please contact us to confirm and avoid disappointment.

Directions:The village lies some 10 miles north of Brighton, just off the A23. The church's Ordnance Survey map reference is TQ279165. It is at the west end of the main part of the high street where the B2211 (which runs from the A23 northbound to Cuckfield) crosses it at a mini-roundabout. From the north, leave the A23 and head toward Burgess Hill. Follow signs which will direct you onto Cuckfield Road and a few miles south into the village. You will find yourself at the mini-roundabout.

Parking:Just north of the mini-roundabout is Trinity Road, which heads east. The car park entrance is first right off it. Long term parking, to the left of the entrance is free, but scarce during the working day. To the right is short stay parking, for which you'll need a disc to prove your arrival time, and which are available at the nearby High Street newsagents, amongst other places.

The ringing chamber entrance is to the right of the tower (looking from the road i.e South). Follow the brick path to the west of the church and the entrance is the single door facing south.

Our band has a cross-section of ringing abilities but we are happy to welcome visitors of any standard (experienced help is always appreciated).

The Chimers

Practice night is on Tuesdays, from 7.45 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. . There are no practices during much of July and August, and at other times can vary depending on forthcoming events and bookings. We meet at a variety of addresses too, so it's essential that potential members make contact first!

We are tune ringers rather than change ringers, as the Handbells page describes.

Practices occur on an ad hoc basis so it's essential to make contact first and meet up for a chat. More information about the apparatus and its use are on the bells page.
